Duo MFA
First and foremost, you will need to download Duo mobile on your mobile device:
App Store (Apple-iOS): Duo Mobile on the App Store (apple.com)
Google Play Store (Android): Duo Mobile - Apps on Google Play
When you are added to the OGHS security group “Duo” and are then added as a user into the OGHS Duo Portal, you should receive an enrollment email from no-reply@duosecurity.com with the Subject: Duo Security Enrollment. It should look like the following:
On your phone, open the Duo Mobile app you just downloaded. On the main page of the app, you should have a “+Add” link in the right-hand corner. Tap on that link. Now you should see a link for “Use QR Code”, tap on it.
Going back to the enrollment email you were sent, click on link residing just under the heading “To begin, click this link to enroll a phone, tablet, or other device:”. Once you click on that link, you should see the following Welcome page:
Click the Next button. Click Next until you reach this screen:
Because you’ve already downloaded the app to your phone, click the “Skip for now” link.
From here, now you can click on the “Duo Mobile” option on the “Select an option” page:
You can now enter your mobile phone number which will be assigned to your user account in Duo. After you enter your phone number, verify that your entry is correct and if it is, select “Yes, it’s correct”.
Click Next on the “Download Duo Mobile”. This won’t download the app; this page is just confirming that you’ve already downloaded the app on your phone. Have you phone ready and proceed to scan the QR code that’s provided. From your phone, click “Save”. You’ve now successfully enrolled your phone for Duo MFA. Back on your computer’s web browser, click Next and then click “Skip for now” when asked if you’d like to setup an additional option. You can close the webpage on your computer as you should see a “Setup completed” page now.
FAQ:
Q: “I did not get an enrollment email. What do I do?” A: Sometimes the email can take up to 10 minutes to send. Check your spam/junk folders. You can also contact OGHS Helpdesk at (337)-594-3911 and an authorized Duo administrator can verify that your account has been synced then push out a new enrollment email from the admin console. OGHS Duo MFA is scheduled to sync once every 12 hours. A Duo administrator can manually synchronize users if needed.
Q: “I accidentally closed the webpage. Can I go back to the email and click the link?” A: Yes, depending on how far along the enrollment process you were prior to closing the web page. However, if you get a message stating that you have already enrolled you will need to reach out to OGHS Helpdesk at (337)-594-3911. An authorized Duo administrator will need to access your Duo user profile, delete your existing mobile activation entry, and send a new enrollment email.
Q: “The app won’t download on my phone.” A: Make sure you have enough storage space on your mobile phone to download the app. The app is roughly 35MB in size. If you verify that you have enough storage space, next step is to check if your phone is up to date with the latest OS features and patches.
